A significant reason for Celebrating Labour Day

International Labour Day is celebrated in more than 80 countries including India, Cube, and China. People in different countries of the world hold marches on this day to protect the rights of working-class people. On this important day, we commemorate their struggles and sacrifices, the efforts they put on, and the value they add to their work. 

A brief history 

The Tradition of Labour Day dates back to 19th century America. On 1st May, 1886 workers in Chicago organized a strike to demand an eight-hour working day. However, workers across the US  come together to demand their rights and to fight for better working conditions after the bomb exploded at a labor rally in Haymarket Square. Afterward, in 1889, the international congress of socialist parties met in Paris and decided to celebrate Labour Day on May 1

What’s the significance?

This day comes in a year as a reminder of the vital role played by the working people in society. Eventually, they got what they deserve as a human. Respect. Power and dignity.
